Macri inaugurates new Iguazú-Madrid air route

At the opening of a new international air route between Iguazú Falls and the city of Madrid, President Mauricio Macri underlined the importance of building a federal Argentina, able to capitalize on the potential of each of its regions, ensuring none of its citizens are left behind.

Air Europa now operates two flights weekly between Puerto Iguazú and Madrid, without stopping Buenos Aires.

Macri called the new air route “a major step, boosting tourism and local employment.” He said he hoped that a new flight from London to Puerto Iguazú will be confirmed early next year.

Present at the inauguration were the Governor of Missiones, Hugo Passalacqua; Transport Minister, Guillermo Dietrich; Tourism Minister, Gustavo Santos; Interior, Public Works and Housing Minister, Rogelio Frigerio; Foreign Minister, Jorge Faurie; Argentine Ambassador to Spain, Ramón Puerta; and CEO of Air Europa, María José Hidalgo.
