Every June 22nd, the Argentine Republic commemorates Fighter Aviation Day, a date dedicated to recognizing the pilots and personnel of the Argentine Air Force who, with professionalism, a dedication to service, and unwavering commitment, fulfill the mission of preserving airspace dominance and contributing to the defense of national sovereignty.
The commemoration was officially established in 1990 by the then-Chief of the General Staff of the Argentine Air Force, with the purpose of commemorating a momentous event in the country’s military aviation history: the activation of Fighter Group 1, which took place on June 22nd, 1931.
This event marked the formal beginning of fighter aviation in Argentina and served as a starting point for the development and strengthening of air defense capabilities.
On this day, we pay tribute to those who have served and continue to serve in this branch, recognizing their dedication and the strategic role they play from the air in protecting national interests.
We salute the falcons of the glorious Argentine Air Force, whose actions continue to honor the values of service, loyalty, and commitment to the homeland.
