Every June 3rd, our country commemorates Argentine Soldier’s Day, a date established by Law No. 24,323 in honor of the birth of General Manuel Belgrano in 1770. The day recognizes the men and women who serve in the Armed Forces and highlights the values of service, sacrifice, discipline, and commitment to the nation that inspired the life and work of this national hero.
Manuel Belgrano was one of the most prominent figures in the process of building our nation. His participation in the May Revolution, his leadership of the Army of the North, and the creation of the National Flag made him a symbol of dedication to the common good and the defense of national interests.
The choice of this date seeks to highlight the principles that guided his career and that continue to serve as a reference for those who embrace a military vocation: honor, responsibility, loyalty, the spirit of service, and commitment to the nation’s freedom and sovereignty.
Argentine soldiers play a vital role in national defense and also participate in numerous community support initiatives, emergency response efforts, natural disaster relief, and humanitarian aid operations, both within and outside the country.
On this day, we pay tribute to all those who, throughout our history, have served the nation with courage and a dedication to service. We especially remember those who gave their lives in defense of the nation and recognize the men and women who today continue to honor that legacy with professionalism and commitment.
