Every August 10th, Argentine Air Force Day is celebrated in commemoration of the creation of the Military Aviation School in El Palomar in 1912, within the Argentine Army. It was the first institution dedicated to military flight training and the first military air unit in our nation. This founding milestone marked the beginning of the history of our glorious Argentine Air Force.

Since that founding event, Argentine military aviation has undergone constant technological, operational, and organizational evolution. On January 4th, 1945, with the creation of the Secretariat of Aeronautics, the Air Force was consolidated as the third Armed Force of the Nation, on equal footing with the Army and Navy. From then on, the institution assumed responsibility for organizing, equipping, and enlisting the air resources necessary for national defense and the full exercise of sovereignty in Argentine airspace. Since then, the Air Force has guarded and defended the skies of the homeland with honor and sacrifice, through hardship.

Today, the Argentine Air Force plays a fundamental role not only in defending the territory, but also in addressing social and humanitarian needs. Its participation in search and rescue missions, natural disaster relief, forest firefighting, logistical operations, and Antarctic flights reflects an ongoing commitment to the community and to the values of solidarity, professionalism, and public service.

On this 113th anniversary, we extend our sincere gratitude to those who are part of this institution, both active and retired. Their dedication, commitment, and daily efforts guarantee the defense of our skies and contribute to the strategic development of the nation.
