President Javier Milei visited the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem today, where he was received by Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz. There, the head of state received signs of affection from a crowd of people who came to greet him. The President of the Nation prayed in front of the millenary remains of the Temple of Jerusalem and toured the Kotel Tunnels where he read the Torah.

He also took part in the ceremony commemorating those who died in the terrorist attacks of 7 October 2023. Yesterday, before taking off for Tel Aviv, the head of state expressed his support and solidarity with Israel in the face of "the attacks by the Hamas terrorist group".

Accompanying the President in his first activity in the Middle East were the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, the Foreign Minister Diana Mondino and the Ambassador-designate to Israel, Rabbi Axel Wahnish.

The Wailing Wall is located in the Old City of Jerusalem. It is a place of great religious significance for Jews around the world and refers to the lamentations of the Jewish people after the disappearance of their temple at the hands of the Romans.

In the afternoon, Milei met with the President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog, with the aim of deepening relations between the two countries. During the meeting, the Israeli Presidential Orchestra sang the anthems of both countries and the leaders exchanged gifts.
