The national government and the Association of Journalists of the Argentine Republic (APeRA) paid tribute this afternoon to the honorary president of this federal journalistic entity, Roberto 'Tano' Di Sandro, who this year will celebrate 77 years of permanent accreditation in the Journalists' Room of the Casa Rosada.

During the ceremony, which was attended by the Undersecretary of Press, Javier Lanari, and the head of APeRA, Fernando Ramírez, a plaque was unveiled naming the Journalists' Room "Dean Roberto Di Sandro", in tribute to his professional journalistic career in the Government House, which he always considered his "second home".

"I was born professionally in the Journalists' Room, and I will never change that clamour, that atmosphere here. It is impossible to live it any other way," said Di Sandro, 92, during the ceremony held at the Government House.

On 29 October 1947, he was assigned by the Télam news agency for the first time as an accredited journalist in the Journalists' Room, a position he still occupies today. For years he has also written the famous page "Intimidades de la Casa Rosada" for Crónica, the newspaper of his love.

Di Sandro was also one of the creators and president of the Círculo de Periodistas de la Casa Rosada and in June 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, he was one of the inspirers of APeRA.

The tribute ceremony was attended by Crónica executives and colleagues who accompanied him during various periods of his 76 years in the Journalists' Room, along with the new generations. Friends and family also attended.
